Summary of PositionReporting directly to the General Manager, the Recreation Manager is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation and evaluation of all recreational and social programs, as well as overseeing the performance management of the Recreation team.This position requires a hands-on approach from executing day to day activities with residents as well as managerial responsibilities. You will work closely with the Leadership Team including assisting with the admission of residents, seasonal activities, creating both the events calendar and monthly newsletter for our family members.Benefits we offer are:

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

• Ability to communicate and establish harmonious relationships with residents, families, volunteers, and visitors of the facility.

• Must demonstrate concern and interest in providing quality care to residents and be able to stimulate resident’s interest in the recreation programs;

• Computer aptitude with relevant skills including Windows based computer knowledge with programs such as Activity Pro, Publisher, Office, and Outlook.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Post-Secondary certificate/ diploma/ degree in therapeutic recreation from a recognized recreational program.

• A minimum of two years management experience in a health care setting is preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Current CPR and First Aid Certification.

• Current Food Safe and WHMIS Certification.

• Current Serving it Right Certification.
