ELECTRICAL, CONTROLS & AUTOMATION MANAGERDue to incredible growth our Silhouette Enclosure’s Facility we are recruiting for a best in class Electrical, Controls & Automation ManagerLead a team of technicians & electricians on the factory floor and in the field to install large-scale commercial and industrial electro-mechanical systems, serving heavy industry, power generation, marine, material handling, new energy and many other markets. This is an outstanding opportunity for a Top-Notch Automation, electrical and controls specialist. He/she will work closely with our clients, a lead our teams to deliver world-class systems to our clients.This position calls for a UNIQUELY EXPERIECED individual. We are looking for someone who have led project teams in factory AND field environments, has design, manufacturing and field installation experience, someone with High Current, High Voltage System experience, but also controls, and automation expertise. To fit to our team – YOU MUST BE A SOLUTIONS FOCUSED & PEOPLE ORIENTED TEAM PLAYER!This is a career opportunity for a UNIQUELY TALENTED individual with a rare combination of experiences.KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Based from Abbotsford, British Columbia you will work on projects and engineered solutions all over North America - projects in the energy, natural resources, power generation, new energy, shipping & marine and other industrial sectors. As a member of our team, you will be, and as required:

  • Meeting with clients and design teams to determine mechanical applications and requirements;
  • Read complex specifications from clients to design a solution to their needs;
  • Collaborate with clients designers and engineers to finalize design and final product specifications and design;
  • Working closely with the engineering team to develop the solutions our clients require;
  • Lead a group of trades persons and technicians to build new and/or retrofit existing electrical and mechanical buildings and electro-mechanical systems for both high and low voltage projects including preparation of documents for client strategic planning, engineering, procurement, contracting and management of related projects;
  • Concept scheming and designing automated solutions, using controls such as ABB, BMS, CAREL, DANFOSS, HORNER, EMERSON, ISMA, MCC, PLC, SCADA, SIEMENS, TRIDIUM, SCHNEIDER or VACON, combined with and/or linked to IT solutions such 1-Plant, Plantvisor or Tridium or Tridium Niagara
  • Lead and train trades persons and technicians on using the above technologies.
  • Conducting and supervising inspections for projects and condition assessments of existing systems;
  • Lead internal project management and shop teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and budget, and meet fabrication and erection standards & constraints;
  • Providing engineering reports to clients, electro-mechanical/automation advice and design of projects and devising modifications as necessary;
  • Reviewing project requirements to provide estimates on quantities and costs of materials, equipment and labour and input on construction and development budgets;
  • Prepare and issue to manufacturing detailed and clear instructions and engineering drawings. Assist the factory with any issues encountered and/or re-engineering, as applicable;
  • Manage any change orders and/or design changes and update the factory with changes;
  • Planning and executing designs using CAD or Trillium;
  • Performing computer simulations and experiments to virtually test and refine the designs;
  • Liaising with clients, designers, engineers, and manufacturers to ensure coherence;
  • Preparing technical reports, design specifications documents, and operational manuals;
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
  • Well versed in in the utilization of Tridium’s Niagara Design and Engineering and Project Management Software, cloud-based applications.
  • Carel’s Plant Visor and/or 1-Plant solutions in combination of usage with controllers such as ABB, BMS, CAREL, DANFOSS, HORNER, EMERSON, ISMA, MCC, PLC, SCADA, SIEMENS, TRIDIUM, SCHNEIDER or VACON and coupled with High Current, High Voltage System experience, but also controls, and automation expertise.
  • Excellent Project Management Leadership is required – AND the ability to train and mentor our technicians and trades people.
  • Self-starter who is innovative and enjoy working in a team environment, with an excellent knowledge of current applicable design codes for industrial building structures;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, fluent in MS Office, Powerpoint, Word and Excel;
