Job Description

ROLE:Surerus Murphy JV is searching for a Project Procurement Administrator to join our team on the Edson Mainline loop No.4 Elk River spread. It involves the construction of approximately 40 km of NPS 48 pipeline which is in Yellowhead and Clearwater county, Alberta, approximately 115 km southeast of Hinton. The project will be based out of Drayton Valley, Alberta.The Project Procurement Administrator is responsible for executing the project procurement strategy, facilitating project services/materials and administer project subcontracts.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Purchase of supplies, equipment and inventory resources efficiently and in a cost-effective manner
  • Execute the source to pay process (creating purchase orders, expediting and supporting supplier payments)
  • Develop sourcing initiatives in coordination with material management team
  • Evaluate and negotiate supplier pricing, capability, quality, performance, and delivery to meet established service level requirements.
  • Implement and maintain procurement procedures on the corporate ERP system.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with suppliers as well as internal and external clients.
  • Work within negotiated enterprise agreements where possible
  • Develop and implement strategies when possible to improve relationships with existing suppliers; identify and implement strategies to develop relationships with new suppliers.
  • Look for opportunities to better leverage purchasing power.
  • Maintain vendor approval schedule and ensure the data integrity of vendor information relating to procurement
  • Process/maintain organized paperwork and records
  • Report supplier issues and trends to the Commercial Manager
  • Support reporting requirements and manage execution against corporate KPIs
  • Maintain policies, procedures and systems according to company practices
  • Identity and implement proper inventory levels for multiple warehouses and work with warehouse personnel to identify and liquidate excess and obsolete inventory
  • Administer contracts and support development of LEMs as required
  • Other duties as may be reasonably required to support the objectives of the organization
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management is considered an assetSupply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation is considered an asset10-15 years of experience in the construction industryExperience with designing and implementing procurement policies and proceduresPrevious experience with ERP/procurement software implementationManagement and delivery of procurement procedures including proven success with realizing financial savingsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent analytical, organizational & analytical skillsStrong negotiation skillsWORKING CONDITIONS:This position is field based, located south west of Drayton Valley, AB. The project is LOA eligible. Shift is 6 days on 1 day off, with 12 hour shifts for the duration of the project.REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:The Project Procurement Administrator reports to the Project Commercial Manager with a home office reporting obligation (dotted line) to the Procurement Manger.
