We have been operating at Meadowbank, our first Low Arctic mine, near Baker Lake for over ten years. The mine produced its three millionth ounce of gold in 2018. 2019 marked the last year of production at the Meadowbank mine and has since transitioned to process ore from the Amaruq satellite deposit. With the official opening of the Amaruq Whale Tail Project in August 2019, the project is now referred to as the Meadowbank Complex. The Complex refers to the processing facilities and infrastructure at the Meadowbank mine site combined with the mining and infrastructure at the Amaruq site.YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE: Reporting to the General Superintendent, Process Plant, Maintenance & Energy and Infrastructure, the owner of the position oversees and his responsible for the Process Plant Department, including maintenance, operations, metallurgy, refinery and assay lab and works in close collaboration with its members, as well as members of the other departments. The Process Plant Superintendent ensures goals and objectives are attained, in respect to Agnico Eagle’s company culture, health and safety and environment code of conduct.

• Manage the process plant teams, directing workflow and planning for the different workforce needs while ensuring proper levels of efficiency and productivity;
• Plan, propose, recommend and follow-up budgets (yearly and life of mine) for the process plant department;
• Analyses, approves and implements the KPI’s to be applied in the department;
• Manages production and operations activities to ensure adequate supply of raw material intended for processes;
• Reviews, approves, and recommends actions in regard to staffing, compensation, development and training of all supervisory and operating personnel;
• Monitors environmental control systems to ensure compliance with government regulations;
• Identifies, administers and/or recommends necessary training tools for plant management and personnel;
• Ensures that reports are completed accurately and in a timely manner. Recommends procedures and methods to improve employee safety.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

• Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgical Engineering or related discipline;
• 5-10 years of experience in managing a large and complex mining process plant;
• Leadership as well as interpersonal, organizational and conflict resolution skills;
• Self-motivated team player with a positive attitude. Able to develop and foster a team environment;
• Thorough working knowledge and understanding of efficient mining practices, procedures and regulations;
• Experience working in a multicultural environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team;
• Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint;
• Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (Oral and written). Selected candidates must attain a passing mark on the SPEEXX English language assessment.

Your Work Schedule

• Schedule is flexible, can either be 7 days of work, followed by 7 days for transportation and rest or 4-3 or 10-10; flights departing from all communities in the Kivalliq region, Mirabel or Val-d’Or, Quebec;
