This commitment has established Clearwater as a global leader in sustainable seafood excellence.Clearwater Seafoods’ Information Systems and Services department requires a Server and Storage Administrator role based at their Bedford, Nova Scotia Corporate Office. The position is a permanent full-time position and reports to the Global IT Operations Manager.Purpose of Position:The Server and Storage Administrator role is responsible for bridging the gap between “back office” IT and the requirements of our daily operations. This includes developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing key functional areas, particularly network infrastructure, server infrastructure, data communications, and telecommunications systems. The Server & Storage Administrator will also schedule and direct activities to resolve hardware, software and storage problems in a timely and accurate fashion. In addition, this role will assist in overall IT operations to ensure the stable operation of the organization’s Plant and remote location IT related infrastructure.Job Duties:Data Security/Recoverability:· Performing data backups and recoveries in a timely fashion;· Ensure data/media recoverability by implementing/monitoring/sustaining a schedule of system backups and database archive operations;· Supports media integrity management thorough internal methods and procedures or through offsite storage and retrieval services;· Develops and promotes up to date and current standard operating procedures and relevant documentation to support audit requirements;· Conducts routine data testing to validate backup and restore procedures; and· Negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure infrastructure-specific products and services.Virtual Server and Database Infrastructure:· Install, configure, support and maintain virtual server and database environments and associated technology;· Responsible for meeting uptime SLA’s, ensuring diligent upkeep and proactive; maintenance windows in line with company RFC procedures;· Knowledge and experience and in using products such as Azure, PowerShell and Office 365; and· Negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure infrastructure-specific products and services.Endpoint Security:

  • Deploy, manage and maintain endpoint security systems and their corresponding or associated software, including Malware, endpoint encryption, cryptography systems, and anti-virus software; and
  • Negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure infrastructure-specific products and services.
Electronic Data Storage:· Install, configure, support and maintain storage area networks and associated technology;· Manage and set priorities for the design, maintenance, development, and evaluation of all storage systems;· Test storage performance regularly and provide performance statistics and reports; develop strategies for maintaining storage infrastructure; and· Negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure infrastructure-specific products and services.Operations:
  • Assist IT ERP vendor management operations, as well as back-up support for other IT functions.
