If you are committed and collaborative professional looking to contribute to a hard-working, innovative team, this opportunity is for you.The Construction Work Planner - Electrical position is located at our office in Bowmanville, Ontario and reports directly to the Estimating & Assessing Manager.This position is responsible for understanding, walking down and creating planned work orders in the work management system for the purpose of project implementation activities.The Construction Work Planner is a one year contract opportunity.Duties and Responsibilities:Follow all Black and McDonalds Quality Managed system procedures for work planningInterpret design documents for scope installationPreparation of inspection and test plansWork with Project Managers/teams to plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate projects to ensure work packages are created, processed and deliveredConduct analysis to determine duration of project activities and identify interdependencies to meet project scope of workProvide support to other stakeholders and groups as requiredFollow all related Managed System Procedures as they relate to Construction/Maintenance work packagesInterpret design documentation for scope installationWrite Detailed work instructions to accomplish field implementation -this may include becoming familiar with and referencing to client station procedures, standards, and specificationsApply Knowledge of construction methods and station configuration to create the work task structure breakdown to implement the projectAccumulate all the necessary technical documents for construction activitiesPreparing work packages for field execution as they relate to the appropriate trade groupsLiaison with Design and supplier groupsStrong leadership, communication, organization and analytical skillsCOMPETENCY REQUIREMENTSCommunicates Effectively (excellent verbal and written communication skills)Holds Self and Others Accountable (proven ability to accurately handle a high volume of transactions, meet deadlines and prioritize workload)Problem Solving and Innovation (Strong analytical and critical thinking skills)Teamwork and Collaboration (Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a variety of people in a professional manner; Flexible team player with the ability to function independently while working in a team environment)EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSCompletion of Grade 12Bachelors Degree in Engineering or College Technical Diploma in related discipline Apprenticeship training or related experience8 years related experience with projectsExperience in planning related discipline work packagesExperience in electrical, mechanical and civil packagesSKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTSDemonstrated ability to collaborate with a variety of people in a professional mannerExperience in managing people and processesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsComputer Literacy; MS Office, Work Planning or Work Management software toolsFlexible team player with the ability to function independently while working in a team environmentKnowledge of applicable laws, government regulation and documentation requirements to the roleQuick Apply
