Please view our City of Brooks Careers Corner page for more details.The City of Brooks has an opening for a full time permanent Human Resources/Inclusion Advisor operating out of City Hall. If you have a human resources background and a passion for making Brooks a welcoming and inclusive community, then this is the job for you!Job Details & Responsibilities:As the Human Resources Advisor, you will be responsible for providing human resource generalist and administrative services while providing support to employees and managers. You will be responsible for the full-cycle recruitment process, benefit and pension administration, and resolving employee disputes through the grievance process.As the Inclusion Advisor, you will be responsible for the marketing and promotion of the City of Brooks as a welcoming and inclusive community. This may involve participating in and/or organizing civic, community pride, and social inclusion events. You will also ensure the ongoing development of the City of Brooks Diversity Plan and research and implement best practices and solutions to advance diversity and inclusion in the City of Brooks.Requirements:

  • Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Human Resources Management;
  • One (1) to three (3) years of related experience in human resources (preferably in a unionized environment), business administration, marketing and/or event planning would be a definite asset. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered;
  • Experience with Human Resources Information Systems or Applicant Tracking Systems is considered an asset;
  • The following credentials are considered an asset(s): Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR), Registered Professional Recruiter (RPR), or other similar certification, and willingness to pursue additional certifications and training;
  • You will also possess knowledge and experience of Federal and Provincial Labour Laws, innovative recruitment techniques;
  • You must display the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with City management team members, union representatives, employees, service providers, and the general public with an overall strong customer service approach;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for presentations, reports and other documents;
  • Strong ambition and self-motivation to successfully deliver projects on time and within budget; and,
  • Class 5 Driver’s License and clean driver’s abstract.
Compensation & Benefits:The City of Brooks offers a competitive salary and benefits package for this position. The regular working hours are Monday to Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The successful applicant will also receive a free family membership to the JBS Canada Centre during the term of employment.A clean criminal records check and driver abstract will be required before an offer of employment is presented to the successful applicant.This position will remain open until a suitable candidate is chosen.
