Job Description

Overview:CDN Controls Ltd. is a fully integrated provider of instrumentation, electrical, automation, communication, combustion and emissions, and meter proving services throughout Western Canada. CDN Controls has been providing the oil and gas industry with the high-quality services needed for business operations since 2010. At CDN Controls, we understand that our employees are the biggest asset in our success, and we take great pride in selecting employees who are team orientated, driven and eager to succeed.CDN is currently looking for local labourers who are interested in the Renewable Energy industry to join our team. If you are experienced or new to the construction of solar farms we want to hear from you. CDN provides on the job training, steady work, competitive pay and benefits.Our exciting project is in the early stages to construct a new 100 MWh Solar Farm, located in Enchant, AB and will be based out of the Brooks branch. With the price of fuel travel from the Brooks shop to site is provided daily. Hours of work will be 10 hours per day, 5 days per week and overtime eligible.The ideal candidate doesn’t shy away from hard, repetive, physical work and enjoy being in the elements all day. You will be team-orientated and interested in growing personally and professionally with us.Responsibilities:Labourers will be responsible for:

  • Industry or trade experience is not required, we will train
  • Comfortable with physical work and working with hand tools as needed
  • Trenching and running cable
  • Erecting and assembling steel ground mount racking and panels
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, measuring accordingly
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs and work in physically challenging conditions
Qualifications:Required:
  • Valid Class 5 license with a clean driver abstract is an asset
  • A pre-employment drug and alcohol test is required prior to employment
  • Must be able to take direction and work well in a team environment
  • Able to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
  • Must have MSA approved steel toed boots and hard hat
