Job Description

SummaryWatson is Ontario’s premier supplier of building materials. Our team is made up of dedicated and hardworking individuals who together create a rewarding and welcoming work environment.Our Burlington location is currently looking for a highly motivated and customer-focused individual for the position of Forklift Operator. The Forklift Operator prepares loads and unloads building materials in the warehouse through the safe operation of a lift truck. Together with other team members, the Forklift Operator works to exceed customer expectations.Location – 3191 Mainway, Burlington, ON, L7M 1A6Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily inspections of lift trucks and complete required forms
  • Ensure lift truck maintenance and servicing requirements are met
  • Build orders to required specifications for delivery
  • Load and unload building materials in a safe and efficient manner
  • Check load contents for accuracy and secure materials
  • Ensure that all products are shipped on schedule and according to specific instructions by management to meet customer demands
  • Maintain contact with supervisor(s) and work to resolve issues as they arise
  • Act as an ambassador of the company with all employees and customers
  • Follow all regulations, company policies, and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned by management
Skills and Qualifications
  • Valid forklift certification (propane)
  • Minimum two years of experience
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of basic mathematics
  • Basic hand tool skills
  • Physical requirements include:
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs
  • Sitting and driving for longs periods of time
  • Frequently climbing up and down stairs
  • Pulling, pushing, bending and torso twisting movements with weight
Compensation
  • Wages - $22.75 - $23.75/hr
  • Bonus - up to $4,500/yr
