Program Instructor – Crawford Lake & MountsbergContract, Seasonal – Starting July 2021Conservation Halton was established more than 60 years ago to protect our communities from flooding and erosion and manage and restore natural resources of the watershed. If you are looking to join an environmentally-focused and socially-conscious community organization, then we are looking for you!Your OpportunityConservation Halton’s seasonal Program Instructors possess a keen interest and/or experience in one or more of the following - education, Indigenous studies, archaeology, history, environmental studies/science. Reporting to the Manager of Education, the Program Instructors are responsible for the delivery of cultural and natural heritage education programs to organized groups and the general public.Deliver informative and entertaining educational programs for organized groups and the public both in person and in a virtual environmentConnect people with nature by creating warm and welcoming experiences for park guests of all ages, abilities, and backgroundsAssist with the development and implementation of innovative new programs to meet the changing needs of the communityAssist with updating and creating new interpretative props, displays, and signageMaintain program equipment & supplies, existing and seasonal interpretative displays, signage, and brochuresPerform related duties in other Conservation Halton parks or at community-based venues, as requiredPerform light cleaning duties as assignedOther related duties as assignedYour QualificationsExcellent presentation and communication skillsExperience in resource interpretation, teaching, or outdoor educationProven commitment to providing superior customer serviceKnowledge of Indigenous studies, archaeology, history, or environmental studies a definite assetAble to adapt to the daily challenges associated with a busy outdoor education centreAble to develop, foster, and sustain effective working relationships within the department and other Conservation Halton staffApplicants selected for hire will be required to submit a valid Vulnerable Sector Check.
