Our official name, Cocoa Community Confections Inc., is a mouthful so we also operate under the shorter names Cococo and Cococo Chocolatiers . Our team is capable of manufacturing and co-packing virtually any product containing chocolate as a primary or defining ingredient.Title and Authority/ReportingTitle: Retail Sales AssociateAuthority/Reporting: This role reports directly to the Retail Store Manager. This role has no supervisory or managerial authority and no direct reports.General Description of the RoleBeing a Sales Associate at Cocoa Community Confections means being all about the in-store customer experience as it pertains to our award-winning artisanal chocolates. The Sales Associate knows the products intimately and assists our customers with general inquiries and product selection for personal consumption or for gifts, reinforcing our values and practices we follow that make us an environmentally and community conscious choice.Role AccountabilitiesThe Retail Sales Associate will:o Collaborate with other Retail Sales Associate to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.o Mentor new Sales Associates as they learn the products and the company.o Learn about and sell new products as they are introduced to the store.o Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards.o Deal with all issues that arise from customers both in person and on the phone / emailo Understand the product ingredients and educate customers to allergens or dietary restrictions.o Be able to communicate the differences between our products and competitors as a method of upselling.Specific TasksThe Retail Sales Associate will:o Maintain cleaning standards.o Process orders and payments for orders.o Order, track, date products, pulling product as directed by Head Office.o Assist in supply preparation.o Complete the opening and closing procedures for the store.o Arrange for the shipping of the product and associated tracking.o Participate in the preparation of the bi-weekly deposit.o Monitor expiration dates, appropriate labelling, and pricing information on products.Skills and Experience/QualificationsRequired skills – you are:o Courteous, patient, and helpful to customers.o Someone who builds customer relationships.o Organized and appreciate cleanliness.o Someone who can accurately receive and process cash, debit, and/or credit payments.o Confident and a team player.o Able to multitask and manage frequent interruptions.o Someone with superior active listening skills.Desirable Skills – you are:o Creative and have an eye for product placement.o Someone who appreciates & understands fine chocolate and confections.o Good at public relations and promoting the brand and company to the community.Required Experience and Qualifications – you have:o 1+ years of customer service experience.o Knowledge of food safety and quality.o Previous experience handling cash and credit paymentsDesirable Experience/qualifications – you may have:o Understanding of allergens and dietary requirements as it pertains to the ingredients in the products.o Understanding of product rotation.Othero This position requires 100% work on-siteo This position requires someone who has flexibility in availability and is available to work on weekends.Job Type: SeasonalContract length: 3 monthsFlexible Language Requirement:
