At Lafarge Canada Inc., safety comes first, collaboration matters and diversity is celebrated with people who share our desire to continually make our materials better.Do you have the drive, the skills, and the passion to join usOverviewThis position is based at our Exshaw Cement PlantSupport the procurement function within an operating cement plant by maximizing efficiencies associated with the provision of materials to the operation.ResponsibilitiesManage all aspects of warehousing including handling stock reconciliations, handling incoming goods, issuing goods, receiving returned goods, stocktaking and managing quality and inspection stockImplement and manage warehousing strategies, policies and procedures to ensure that movement and storage of goods is managed effectively throughout the operating companyEnsure warehousing KPIs are met in order to support the effective running of the operating company and prepare and publish warehousing reports to demonstrate performanceDrive improvement and results in operational efficiency and inventory improvement strategiesTake responsibility for receiving, storing and dispatching goods, tracking shipments, co-ordinating import and export activities & liaising with internal and external customers and suppliers as necessaryEnsure warehouse strategies that assure plant reliability are properly defined and enforcedImplement warehouse management policy and best practice proceduresConstantly improve warehouse performance (ensure warehouse KPIs are defined and measured)Ensure OH&S requirements are met in the warehouseCreate SAP Contracts and place MRP OrdersWork closely with other functions (maintenance, production, finance) to effectively support the operationEnsure accurate and timely delivery of stock to the operationHealth & Safety:Implements OH&S Mission: Ensures alignment of OH&S activities and takes relevant actions to achieve OH&S requirements.Identifies Hazards & Control Risks: Actively manages risks by ensuring that all related control activities are implemented thoroughlyManages Incidents: Drives committed and effective incident managementExecute and monitor all respective internal controls, ensuring efficient/effective activities that support organizational objectives, while adhering to applicable laws, regulations, policies and proceduresEnsure compliance with internal control procedures - communicating problems in operations, unwarranted deviations from established standards, and violations of policy or lawRelationships with Other Jobs:Direct Reports (# of): 1Direct Reports (Titles): StoreskeeperInteracts with:Operational Management (e.g. plant managers, planners, coordinators)BuyersProcurement ManagersCategory ManagementVendorsQualificationsRequired Education: Bachelor's/Undergraduate DegreeField of Study Preferred: Supply Chain, Logistics, BusinessRequired Work Experience:1-3 years in purchasing or warehouse management3-5 years in a manufacturing environment (production or maintenance)Additional Requirements: Experience in forecasting, MRP, ERP systems, EDI or scanning systemsRequired Computer and Software Skills: Proficient in MS Office.
