Job Description

Goodness Childcare is located in the heart of Vaughan and is an industry leader in programming, parent-centered relationships, integration as well as staff training, development and professional satisfaction.Job ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Supervisor and lead RECE, the Assistant Teacher will be responsible for teaching in an assigned classroom through the Ministry of Education and Public Health requirements. Assistant teachers are to also

  • Ensure that meals are distributed to all children
  • Provide guidance with hygiene practices such as diaper changes
  • Monitor children throughout the day and always ensure safety
  • Ensure classroom is kept clean and tidy
Skills and QualificationsThe ideal candidate must have a joyful personality, be dependable, take initiative, be committed and must be competent in caring for children and sharing these skills. The ideal candidate must have a solid command of child development, programming for appropriate age groups and knowledge of the Ministry of Education’s How Does Learning Happenpedagogical guideline. Excellent knowledge and embrace of the Reggio approach is also required.
  • Have current Standard First Aid and CPR certificate (Level C) or willing to obtain
  • Have a recent clean Police Records Check (V.S.S completed within the last 6 months) or willing to obtain
  • Must complete Medical checklist
Part time opportunity 0-40 hours per week.Job Types: Part-time, Permanent, CasualSalary: From $19.00 per hourSchedule:
  • Monday to Friday
  • On call
