Your Opportunity:This Mental Health Aide - Consumer Support Worker position works for the Drumheller Community Addictions and Mental Health team and requires a highly motivated individual that is keenly interested in working with people. Having strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills are large contributors to success in this position. The successful applicant would work with Assertive Outreach Clinicians, Addiction Counselors, and Mental Health Therapists to support addiction and mental health clients. You will work as part of a team to support the development, implementation, and delivery of the client relevant treatment plan as guided by the clinician/therapists/counselors. Having an understanding of mental health and addiction issues, being self-motivated and able to work independently, at times are keys to further success in this position.Description:As a Mental Health Aide, you will work as a collaborative member of the multidisciplinary team to provide a welcoming and safe care environment. You will assist in the provision of direct patient/client care as delegated in a person-centered, recovery oriented and safe manner. In this position, you will assist and / or promote independence to patients/clients in completing activities of daily living as well as assisting other health professionals with providing treatments and observing and reporting relevant patient/client information to professional staff. You will assist new patients/clients and families with orientation, and assist in the general support of the work area.
