The Technical Quality Coordinator’s responsibilities include reviewing all quality records to ensure completeness and correctness and verify alignment with the Project Breakdown Structure.The Technical Quality and Handover Coordinator is responsible for performing daily QA responsibilities such as tracking all issued Non Conformance Reports (NCRs) and evaluate the effectiveness of the associated corrective actions through random audits and surveillances. The role is primarily office- based, managing the NCR process, maintaining quality dashboards, performing internal and external audits and tracking handover documentationsThe Edmonton Valley Line West LRT project is a 14-km long line extension of the soon to be in service Valley Line in downtown Edmonton, Alberta. The scope of work generally includes complex staging; new facilities such as stations, OMSF, storage facility, and stops; elevated guideway; new structures; systems and communications installation; trackwork; testing and commissioning; and all other civil works associated with the scope. It is the first LRT extension project using low-floor vehicle technology in Western Canada and will be a landmark LRT endeavour after the 5-year construction term. The unique project challenges, such as cold weather climate and integration with an in-service LRT line, offers team members future career opportunities in the robust transit portfolio of the City of Edmonton and other similar programs across Canada.Responsibilities:

  • Track, monitor and communicate the status of all Non Conformities and Corrective Actions to ensure timely submission of the Final Plan to the City.
  • Communicate all Corrective Actions to relevant parties.
  • Support external ISO 9001 registration and assessment audit programs
  • Establish and maintain handover tracker for turnover packages as the work progresses.
  • Evaluate the correctness and completeness of the quality records against the approved Inspection and Test Plans and the project requirements
  • Attend pre-bid and kickoff meetings and coordinate project requirements with various project vendors and subcontractors
  • Establish and maintain a project Master Audit Schedule with the objective to perform internal and external audits in line with the ISO 9001 standard.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to the Quality Management Plan when and as required
  • Update Quality System Procedure when and as required.
  • Promote the project quality absolutes, quality policy, quality objectives and ensure they are effectively communicated with the project team members.
Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Civil or Structural Engineering is preferred.
  • Certified as a Lead Auditor Training in the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
  • Good knowledge and experience in the implementation of problem-solving methodology and performance of root cause analysis (i.e. Six Sigma)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good knowledge and experience in ISO 9001 Quality Management System and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
  • Experience interpreting codes and specifications.
  • Thorough knowledge of general construction methods and construction codes.
  • Understands how to research and locate manufacturers product data and installation guidelines.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and quality management systems.
Preferred:
  • 5 years experience in reviewing quality control and quality assurance programs for large construction projects (100M+)
  • Experience with the Authority Having Jurisdiction to reach mutually agreeable solutions to technical or field issues.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
