Working under supervision, the incumbent will apply Company and industry standards, guidelines, specifications, practices, and procedures in the preparation of construction, modification and maintenance work orders for the Company’s transmission and distribution system.What you will be doing: · Use the GIS system to maintain records and mapping associated with the operation of the electrical system.· Assist with determination and acquisition of easements and other rights of property.· Make applications to civic authorities for permits and certificates necessary for the maintenance and construction of the electrical system.· Ensure all permits and certificates are received prior to release of work.· Process applications and requests for underground locates.· Perform layouts and designs of electrical facilities.· Analyze loading and protection criteria of both existing and proposed facilities forming part of the electrical system.· Provide design services for Electrical Planners of a higher classification as required.· Perform work in accordance will all pertinent legislation, regulations and in alignment with the Company’s policies and procedures.· Interact effectively with customers and other stakeholders in a consistently professional manner.What makes you a successful candidate: · Successfully completed post-secondary education in the electrical engineering technology field.· Valid Class G Ontario Driver’s License.· Be thoroughly familiar with ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite applications as well as the industry standards and practices associated with this role.· Demonstrate an unrelenting commitment and passion to safety, ethics, and a mindset to strive for continuous improvements.· Ability to think critically and analytically with strong problem solving and decision-making skills.If you are still reading, our guess is that you are seeking a rewarding career, opportunity to work both independently, and be part of a collaborative and dynamic team with an attractive compensation package – so go ahead and apply!Visit www.cnpower.com to learn more.We thank all respondents, however due to volume we will only contact those selected for an interview.Canadian Niagara Power Inc.
