It is comprised of full time and part time RNs and RPNs whose shifts are assigned to various clinical units to meet staffing requirements. Mental Health Nursing Resource Team nurses may be called in for relief or pre-booked as the need arises and will practice in multiple settings, including acute mental health (Charlton and West 5th Campuses), and tertiary mental health (West 5th Campus).POSITION SUMMARY:The RPN will be responsible for the provision of quality holistic nursing care to clients in the acute and tertiary care settings within the Mental Health program. This care shall include comprehensive assessment, treatment, and evaluation of patients suffering from major mental disorders, in collaboration with the RN. The RPN will practice in multiple settings, including acute mental health (Charlton and West 5th campuses), and tertiary mental health (West 5th Campus). This RPN will possess nursing skills which will be transferable and adaptable to the various mental health care settings within St. Josephs Healthcare Hamilton. This RPN will provide client-centered care within the recovery framework, and will be committed to continuous professional development of his / her psychiatric nursing competencies.The RPN will be committed to reducing and ultimately eliminating the use of restraint and seclusion.QUALIFICATIONS:
