Responsibilities:
  • Supports the Equity, Anti-Racism and Indigenous Initiatives Team with tasks related to research, analysis and reporting to enhance the work and help inform decisions of the team.
  • Supports the development and implementation of an ongoing systematic corporate strategy to collect, analyze, and publicly report demographic data across all areas of the corporation.
  • Supports the development and implementation of a multi-year evaluation strategy to monitor and measure the City’s work on equity, anti-racism and Indigenous initiatives in order to identify successes, challenges, gaps and areas for improvement.
  • Supports in the design and implementation of a cycle of regular reporting from the Equity Team to the Corporate Leadership Team, City Council and the public
  • Provides advice, guidance and recommendations in the development of research projects and engagement strategies from an equity and anti-racism lens.
  • Uses creative problem solving, ensures timely execution of tasks, and delivers project outcomes within developed time schedules
Requirements:
  • Must be reliable with a good attitude and employment record.
  • 3-year degree/diploma in a social sciences or related field
  • 2-4 years’ experience with projects focused on equity-informed research and engagement
  • Must have strong organizational and file management skills to manage a portfolio of multiple complex research and/or engagement projects on an on-going basis
  • Exceptional analytical, problem solving, communication and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of, and experience in organizational change and the implementation of equity and anti-racism work within large organizations
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically with proven project management skills, including a track record of successfully completing projects on-time and on-budget
  • Ability to interact professionally and diplomatically with a diverse group of stakeholders
  • Superior written, oral and presentation skills, with demonstrated strength in report writing and proven ability communicating effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
