Work Arrangements37.5 hours per week, to be worked Monday to Friday (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.).Locations: Douglas College Campuses Coquitlam, Maple Ridge and Langley. And we’re looking for passionate, motivated people to join us in making one of Canada’s best colleges even better.The RoleThe Amplify Integrating Essential Skills Research Project has been designed to assess, train and prepare Jobseekers for future training and sustained employment through a contextualized Essential Skills training model. The Amplify Digital Skills Facilitator will work closely with the Program Manager to design and deliver basic digital skills training curriculum to WorkBC participants from all over BC. All services may be delivered through either face-to-face or online contact.Responsibilities

  • Support the ongoing development, delivery and coordination of the Amplify research project;
  • Liaise with designated WorkBC Career Coaches and Managers to promote the project and recruit program participants;
  • Develop basic digital skills training materials to prepare clients with low digital literacy to better participate in the full range of AMPLIFY training and activities;
  • Anticipate and respond to emerging digital skills needs as the project develops.
  • Deliver skills enhancement training which may be either face-to-face or through online delivery. (Face-to-face delivery can occur anywhere in BC);
  • Deliver skill enhancement training utilizing a variety of digital technologies;
  • Demonstrate to participants how the skills they are acquiring in the program are transferable to both the workplace, school and their personal life;
  • Deliver training and or coaching sessions in a professional manner;
  • Ensure training is relevant to participant needs by maintaining an interactive environment;
  • Complete participant technology ‘Systems Checks’ to ensure participant’s can effectively participate in the AMPLIFY online training and access other third-party platforms;
  • Respond to participant enquiries and requests, providing guidance and coaching;
  • Support researchers in data collection and reporting.
  • Support Program Manager in successfully implementing ISO standards for the Department, including the maintenance of project documentation and the program guide;
  • Complete and submit monthly activity reports;
  • Collaborate regularly with other Amplify delivery partners to review program goals, client successes and challenges, and discuss opportunities for ongoing program improvement;
  • Miscellaneous as required.
To Be Successful in this Role You Will Need
  • University or College degree or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience;
  • Educational credential and experience relating to adult learning;
  • Proven ability to facilitate online and in-person group training programs;
  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge of digital hardware and software, including platforms for online delivery, apps and programs relevant to education and work;
  • Specifically proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom, and Adobe Acrobat;
  • The ability to organize and effectively document confidential student records;
  • Excellent problem solving, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills;
  • Willing to travel and work throughout BC (when training is delivered face-to-face);
  • A vehicle and valid B.C. Driver’s license (when training is delivered face-to-face in the Lower Mainland);
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team;
  • To be comfortable working with multi-barrier clients;
  • Training and experience in handling challenging situations;
  • Passion for digital literacy and learning;
  • Satisfactory completion of a Criminal Records Check.
