Job Description

Shuttle/Landing SupervisorSummaryThe Landing Supervisor is responsible for motivating and monitoring the shuttle driver team and the landing area. WildPlay prides itself on providing superior guest service and this position is intended to ensure that our guest’s expectations are exceeded by mentoring the shuttle team to go the extra mile.The Landing Supervisor is the expert in regards to Zipline operations and they are directly overseeing the shuttle team. This role is a working position and will be responsible for safely transporting guests and other Team Members to and from the Zipline landing.The Landing Supervisor must have excellent communication skills in order to effectively interact with shuttle drivers, other team members, and the management team. As well as the guests and participants we serve. Commitment, patience, maturity, and initiative are required qualities.Responsibilities and DutiesThe Landing Supervisor is responsible for:

  • Exemplify the WildPlay Element Parks brand and support our model of the ideal guest experience.
  • Ensure safety, inspections, maintenance, and risk management standards are maintained.
  • Assisting in coaching and mentoring the shuttle team.
  • Cleaning and maintaining the service road, bathroom, break room, storage area, and gear area.
  • Ensuring the shuttle team have had sufficient breaks throughout the day
  • Overseeing the tractor driver and gear crew by ensuring the proper rotation of gear back from the landing area.
  • Conduct inspection of all equipment and perform minimal maintenance of equipment on shuttles and tractor.
  • Responsible for the landing area, including cleanliness, staffing, and overall efficiency
  • Learn and adhere to regulatory requirements and permit restrictions for the Park’s geographic location (Public Safety, Worker Safety, Human Rights, Employment Standards, etc.).
  • Carrying out other work as directed by Park Management.
  • Participating as a positive and proactive member of the WildPlay team
  • Foster relationships and communication with others on the Park Management Team.
The Shuttle Driver is responsible for:
  • Driving safely, responsibly, and prepared for all road conditions
  • Respecting fellow employees, equipment, and customers
  • Pre and post-trip checks of the shuttle each time it is used (emphasis on ensuring adequate fluid levels)
  • maintaining radio contact and using proper radio protocol
  • management of passenger behaviour by quickly and effectively solve problems
  • maintaining a clean shuttle
  • report unsafe conditions and any injuries
  • soliciting feedback on Elements and experiences from guests, and relaying important feedback to Park management
Required Qualifications and Skills The Landing Supervisor must possess the following qualifications, skills, and attributes:
  • A valid driver’s license
  • Excellent driving skills and abilities
  • Experience maintaining equipment is an asset
  • Supervisor experience required
  • Cleaning experience is an asset
  • Must be capable of driving a variety of equipment (example: Kawasaki mule, John Deere tractor, golf cart)
  • Ability to consistently deliver high standards of work in all-weather conditions including extreme heat, sun, humidity, snow, and temperature change
  • Organized, punctual, and reliable
  • Calm, pleasant, and helpful manner
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • A team player with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly motivated, energetic, and reliable.
  • Consistently positive attitude.
  • Friendly, outgoing personality and proactive nature.
  • Must be able to walk 500 metres.
  • Physical demands may include holding, carrying, and lifting Zipline equipment, frequent walking/ standing, sitting, and bending/ twisting/ kneeling
Work RelationshipsReports to the Element Supervisor and Park Management.Work ScheduleThe Landing Supervisor will receive full-time hours, based on the needs of the business. Includes working both evenings, weekends, and holidays, when appropriate and beneficial to job responsibilities.Whats Cool About This Job
