An international destination with easy access to its binational U.S. neighbour New York State, Niagara attracts over 14 million visitors annually, as well as a steady stream of new residents and businesses.Job DescriptionJOB SUMMARYMaintain the building and grounds surrounding the assigned Child Care locations through housekeeping, landscaping, and snow and ice removal. Responsible for the cleaning duties to ensure the child care centre remains clean and sanitized. This includes the general maintenance of the building which consists of performing minor and routine painting, repairs and other minor related maintenance activities on the interior and exterior of the building. Perform maintenance and repair of equipment and children’s toys.EDUCATION

  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
KNOWLEDGEMinimum of 1-3 months experience in cleaning and light maintenance repairs in an institutional environmentSKILLS
  • Must possess working knowledge of cleaning equipment and tools.
  • Must be able to work without direct supervision.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
  • In accordance with the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014, Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check Policy, the position requires a Canadian Police Clearance Certificate every 5 years and an Annual Declaration for each year subsequently.
  • Must meet and maintain requirements in the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014; health assessment and proof of current records of immunizations as recommended by the Medical Officer of Health.
  • The following training courses, licenses and certifications are preferred and/or must be completed prior to employment
