This is an excellent opportunity for a current student or recent graduate in an Engineering, Environmental or related field to gain valuable work experience.The Development Approvals Student/Intern will primarily assist the Development Approvals Technicians in reviewing and approving technical development applications (severances, minor variances, site plans, subdivisions, MOE - environmental compliance certificates, etc.) with respect to impacts to/integration with Regional Public Works related infrastructure (water, sanitary, storm and roads etc.). A component of this job will be updating the internal Geographic Information System (GIS) database for Development Application Recording & Tracking System (iDARTS) with historical servicing drawings (MOE Environmental Compliance Certificates). There will be job shadowing of the Development Approvals Technicians to assist with the review and processing of development applications including assisting with updating standard conditions of approval.EDUCATION
