An international destination with easy access to its binational U.S. neighbour New York State, Niagara attracts over 14 million visitors annually, as well as a steady stream of new residents and businesses.Job DescriptionJOB SUMMARYPerform general building and grounds maintenance as directed by the Building Services Manager or designate.EDUCATIONGrade 12 or equivalent.Recognized training or education in two or more of electrical, mechanical, carpentry, welding, or plumbing required.KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCEMinimum of 6 months current related experience preferably in a long term care geriatric setting.Must have knowledge and ability to work on 110v up to and including 600v systems and equipment.Must be able to communicate effectively with other staff, supervisor and residents.Must have a good understanding and knowledge of the emergency procedures.SPECIAL CONDITIONSMust have a good attendance record.A valid class "G" driver's licence is requiredIn accordance with the Corporate Criminal Record Check Policy, the position requires the incumbent to undergo a Criminal Records Check and submit a Canadian Police Clearance Certificate.Shift InformationTypically scheduled days 8:00-4:00 Monday to Friday at Meadows of Dorchester and throughout the 8 homes on a equal basis, subject to occasional afternoons and weekends as required.
