An international destination with easy access to its binational U.S. neighbour New York State, Niagara attracts over 14 million visitors annually, as well as a steady stream of new residents and businesses.Please note that the Niagara Region requires that all newly hired employees are to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of being hired and provide proof of full vaccination, or provide proof of a bona fide medical or Human Rights Code exemption on a form issued from and approved by Niagara Region.Job DescriptionJOB SUMMARYThe Inventory Management Technician shall oversee the inventory, supplies, materials, emergency response equipment and tools management of the Water and Wastewater Maintenance Division.QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION

  • 3 year Community College Diploma in Engineering Technology or a related field and/or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • MMP (Maintenance Management Professional) designation from PEMAC (Plant Engineering and Maintenance Association of Canada) would be an asset.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
  • 5 years of inventory management experience in an industrial maintenance environment or a combination of education and work experience deemed equivalent by the department.
  • Knowledge of trades, and the maintenance procedures required in the repair of physical plant assets.
  • Knowledge of maintenance equipment, parts, and tools used in the repair of Water and Wastewater Maintenance Industry.
  • Knowledge of Water and/or Wastewater operations, regulations and best practices.
  • Demonstrated computer skills in EAM / CMMS programs (preferably INFOR EAM), and MS Office Suite, including intermediate to advanced level skills in Excel, Word and Access.
  • Working knowledge of provisions of the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
SKILLS
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task several priorities and possess solid time management skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must maintain ability to travel in a timely manner to other offices, work locations or sites as authorized by the Corporation for business reasons.
  • In accordance with the Corporate Criminal Record Check Policy, the position requires the incumbent to undergo a Criminal Records Check and submit a Canadian Police Clearance Certificate.
  • Must be willing to obtain and maintain an industrial forklift truck operator’s certificate.
  • Must be willing to obtain Transportation of Dangerous Goods certification.
