An international destination with easy access to its binational U.S. neighbour New York State, Niagara attracts over 14 million visitors annually, as well as a steady stream of new residents and businesses.Job DescriptionJOB SUMMARYProvide administrative and program support to the Transit Services Program Manager and team. Administrative support is provided by generating reports, drafting and disbursing communications. In addition, the role provides front-line customer service to diverse clients, partnering agencies and internal staff on behalf of Niagara Regional Transit (NRT) and Niagara Specialized Transit (NST).EDUCATION

  • Completion of Grade 12, plus one year post-secondary in a business or office administration program.
  • Advanced training in related software programs.
  • Customer Service training is considered an asset.
KNOWLEDGE
  • 2 years of recent related customer service and/or administrative experience.
SKILLS
  • Professional customer service skills and a positive attitude are required.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills, utilizing available tools/resources to assist clients with inquiries.
  • Displays teamwork, open communication, excellence in service, integrity, accountability.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to respond to the diverse needs of clients.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient ability to develop and produce correspondence, documents, financial records and record retention.
  • Requires accuracy and attention to detail in creating records.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • Knowledge of Niagara Regional Transit and Niagara Specialized Transit, along with geographic knowledge of the Niagara region (including the 12 Local Area Municipalities) is preferred.
  • Record/data management knowledge including file management and using databases.
  • Knowledge of Niagara Region’s Corporate Management Records System (CRMS) and/or Enhanced Financial Management Service (EFMS) is an asset.
  • Time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage and reprioritize work with demands, interruptions/distractions, under tight timelines.
  • Ability to work both independently and to function effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Works with team to identify and implement continuous quality improvement opportunities.
