An international destination with easy access to its binational U.S. neighbour New York State, Niagara attracts over 14 million visitors annually, as well as a steady stream of new residents and businesses.Job DescriptionJOB SUMMARYIn conjunction with professional therapists, will implement prescribed treatment plans, document and evaluate residents/clients identified therapy needs.QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATIONGrade 12 or EquivalentCompleted College Certificate in Occupational Therapy Assistant/Physiotherapy Assistant (OTA/PTA) program from a recognized college – RequiredConsideration will also be given to a completed University degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis on therapeutic techniques and equipment.KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCEMinimum 6 months of current experience in implementing therapeutic interventions as prescribed by Care Providers preferably in a long term care geriatric setting.SKILLSMust be physically and mentally capable of performing the duties of the position, have an excellent rapport with people and demonstrated working ability with Senior Citizens.Must have a good attendance record.SPECIAL CONDITIONSIn accordance with the Corporate Criminal Record Check Policy, the position requires the incumbent to undergo a Criminal Records Check and submit a Canadian Police Clearance Certificate – Condition of Employment.Closing StatementWe thank all candidates for their interest however, only those candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
