An international destination with easy access to its binational U.S. neighbour New York State, Niagara attracts over 14 million visitors annually, as well as a steady stream of new residents and businesses.Please note that the Niagara Region requires that all newly hired employees are to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of being hired and provide proof of full vaccination, or provide proof of a bona fide medical or Human Rights Code exemption on a form issued from and approved by Niagara Region.Job DescriptionJOB SUMMARYProvide individual, couple, family and group counseling services for persons with severe and persistent mental health concerns or their significant others. Provide liaison, case management and case consultation services. Provide social work intervention, consultation and act as a professional resource to a diverse, interdisciplinary team. To provide consultation and act as an external resource to other mental health and community service providers.QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION

  • Masters degree in social work required.
  • Must be registered as a member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) at the time of application.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of 3 years clinical social work in mental health experience required.
  • Clinical experience in family therapy and/or trauma counselling preferred.
SKILLS
  • Skills in cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectical behavioural therapy, trauma therapy, addictions, diversity issues, and other co-occurring disorders.
  • Must demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and knowledge of local resources.
  • Computer skills an asset.
  • Working knowledge of mental health diagnosis.
  • Working knowledge of relevant legislation required.
  • Access to vehicle and able to travel around Niagara Region in a timely manner.
