Job Description

Our partners have diversified experience gained in Canada and the United States.Job Overview: A successful candidate should have experience with accounting and financial software and should stay up to date with current trends. Expert-level knowledge of working with spreadsheets is crucial. Experience with word processing software is essential for generating and writing reports for record-keeping as well as presentations.Job Duties:

  • Process and administer payroll-related services provided to clients including processing periodic pay stubs, issuing records of employment, reconciliations with CRA records, and processing CRA required remuneration slips and summaries on an annual basis
  • Advising clients regarding payroll related questions
  • Communicate with CRA regarding any questions they may have in regards to accounting and payroll tasks performed
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of bank and credit card account for various clients
  • Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions resolving discrepancies
  • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
  • Conduct any other tasks related to the accounting, payroll, and tax services provided to clients
  • Preparing corporate tax returns
  • Preparing individual tax returns
  • Processing T4s, T4 summaries, and T5s
  • Arranging and presenting data on schedules, spreadsheets, returns, or other work reports
  • Applying knowledge of tax forms, basic tax concepts, computer applications, and other source material to prepare tax returns, projections, and other data
  • Provide clerical and administrative support to management as requested.
  • Liaise with partners to improve and develop accounting policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as requested
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field
  • Work experience as an Accountant
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software like Profile and QuickBooks
  • Advanced MS Excel skills including VLOOKUP and pivot tables
  • Experience with general ledger functions
  • Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
