Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW:The Office of Research Services, Innovation and Entrepreneurship (ORSIE) at Durham College is hiring a Research Associate to support two externally funded research projects entitled “Raising Resilient Families: Empowering Parents with Cognitive Challenges” and “Building Bridges Together: Co-production of Financial Empowerment Strategies with People Experiencing Low Income.”For further information about these projects, please visit: https://durhamcollege.ca/about/office-of-research-services-innovation-and-entrepreneurship-orsie/social-impact-hub/current-projectsDUTIES:Under the guidance of the Project Directors, the Research Associate will support the research team in conducting the following research related activities:

  • Create and monitor a yearly project timeline
  • Coordinate/schedule meetings with the project committee
  • Collaborate with researchers to monitor and guide activities of the student Research Assistants
  • Coordinate the Research Ethics Board approval application process
  • Liaise with Project Committee members including external partners
  • Data collection and analysis; interview transcription
  • Collaborate on writing final report for phase 1 and 2 of project
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • The successful candidate must have completed a Community or Social Service program at Durham College
  • Proficient in the use of American Psychological Association (APA) writing and referencing guidelines
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Responsible and reliable
  • Strong communication and people skills
  • Previous research experience is an asset
