Job Description

Matrix HR is currently recruiting a HVAC Journeyperson Technician for a client of ours located in Kitimat, BC. This is a permanent placement directly with our client. With a 40-hour per week, Monday to Friday schedule.This is a Unionized company/role and you must be willing to join their respective Union, Local 516.Pay Rate:

  • $50 - $52/per hour
HVAC Technicians play a crucial role in contributing to the success of the company by ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of heating, ventilation, air conditioning systems, and refrigeration equipment.Responsibilities/Duties:
  • Assembling, installing, repairing, and replacing a variety of systems in commercial and industrial settings.
  • Installing, troubleshooting, and overhauling entire heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.
  • Repairing and replacing components for entire heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.
  • Providing technical support in the field of servicing mechanical and HVAC systems.
  • Participating in and adhering to the safety protocols.
Qualifications:
  • Certified HVAC journeyperson and be a member (or willing to join) Local 516.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a qualified HVAC.
  • A Provincial Safety Authority Gas Ticket (an asset).
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • The capability to prioritize tasks effectively to ensure timely completion/meet deadlines.
  • A Class 5 Driver #39;s License with a clean Driver #39;s abstract (an asset).
Skills:
  • Accurately preparing work estimates.
  • Effectively interpreting and utilizing blueprints.
  • Proficiently installing and calibrating controls, including wiring.
  • Ensuring precise measurement and installation of refrigeration or air conditioning components.
  • Thoroughly testing systems for leaks and functionality.
  • Adhering to legislative requirements, maintaining detailed documentation.
