We are hiring two supervisors/Foreman to supervise the team of park workers during the assembly and dismantling of the Festival du Voyageur 2023 starting January 3, 2023 until March 17, 2023.Who We Are: The Festival du Voyageur inc. is a French-speaking non-profit organization founded in 1969 that offers the public artistic and educational experiences inspired by the voyageur era of 1815. The first edition of the Festival du Voyageur winter celebration took place in 1970. This annual event taking place for 10 days in February is now the largest francophone event in Western Canada welcoming more than 90,000 festival-goers per year. This celebration highlights the arts of several disciplines, namely music, dance, sculpture and visual arts, while prioritizing Francophone and Aboriginal artists.Job Overview: In collaboration with the Project Manager and the Park Manager, the Supervisor will be responsible for supervising, monitoring and directing the teams of park workers (team of 10-14 people) during the assembly, maintenance and dismantling of the park. This position is outdoors and requires working in very cold weather conditions for long periods of time. Working hours will be fixed from Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. before the Festival, then variable with a minimum of 40 hours per week from February 11 to 28, 2023.Responsibilities include, among others:

• Assist the Project Manager and Park Manager with estimating, creating schedules, ordering materials and preparing sites for the start of construction
• Provide leadership and expertise for internal project planning meetings, kick-off meetings, check-ins and debriefs throughout projects
• Identify creative construction methods to effectively complete job requirements
• Assist the Project Manager and Park Manager to coordinate site activities and provide general direction to internal workforce and contractors.
• Work in conjunction with the Project Manager and Park Manager to maintain site documentation including site instructions, contract amendments, safety records and daily site logs to a standard of professionalism, respect and on-site communication for everyone involved, and conflict management when they arise
• Support of the team of workers by assisting in the various assigned tasks
• Train the team of workers as needed
• Mature all services and capabilities of our operations team
• Ensure compliance with health and safety rules at work.
• Any other tasks designated by the project manager or site manager.

Qualifications:

• Collaborative, innovative and creative style;
• Good leader and Team player;
• Demonstrated skills in communication, planning and time management;
• Previous construction experience in a similar role required;
• Be a handyman and able to build furniture;
• Ability to work outdoors;
• Ability to lift 40 lbs;
• License to operate a Skid-Steer will be considered an asset;
• Attention to detail;
• Must own and bring safety boots compatible with cold temperatures;
• Class 5 driver’s license required.

La première édition de la fête hivernale du Festival du Voyageur a eu lieu en 1970. Cet événement annuel ayant lieu pour 10 jours au mois de février est maintenant le plus grand événement francophone dans l’Ouest canadien accueillant plus de 90,000 festivaliers par année. Cette fête met en valeur les arts de plusieurs disciplines, soit la musique, la danse, la sculpture et les arts visuels, tout en priorisant les artistes francophones et autochtones.Aperçu du poste : En collaboration avec le responsable de projets et le gérant du parc, le superviseur sera responsable d’encadrer, surveiller et diriger les équipes d’ouvrier du parc (équipe de 10 à 14 personnes) lors du montage, maintient et démontage du parc. Cette position est à l’extérieur et nécessite de travailler dans des conditions météorologiques très froides pendant de longues périodes. Les heures de travail seront fixe du lundi au vendredi de 8h à 16h30 avant le Festival, puis variable avec un minimum de 40h/semaines du 11 au 28 février 2023.Les responsabilités comprennent entre autres :

• Aider le responsable de projets et gérant du parc à estimer, créer des calendriers, commander des matériaux et préparer les sites pour le début de la construction
• Fournir un leadership et une expertise pour les réunions de planification de projet internes, les réunions de lancement, les enregistrements et les débriefings tout au long des projets
• Identifier des méthodes de construction créatives à compléter efficacement les exigences de travail
• Aider le chef de projet et gérant à coordonner les activités du site et fournir une orientation générale à la main-d’œuvre interne et aux sous-traitants.
• Travailler en collaboration avec le chef de projet et le gérant pour maintenir la documentation sur le site, y compris les instructions du site, les modifications de contrat, les dossiers de sécurité et les journaux de chantier quotidiens norme de professionnalisme, de respect et de communication sur place pour toutes les personnes impliquées, et gestion des conflits lorsqu’ils surviennent
• Soutenir l’équipe d’ouvrier en assistant dans les tâches diverses assignées
• Former l’équipe d’ouvrier au besoin
• Faire mûrir l’ensemble des services et des capacités de l’équipe des opérations
• Assurer le respect des règles de santé et sécurité au travail
• Tout autres tâches désignées par le responsable de projets ou gérant du parc

Qualifications:

• Style collaboratif, innovant et créatif;
• Être un bon leader et avoir un bon esprit d’équipe;
• Compétences démontrées en communication, en planification et en gestion du temps;
• Expérience requise en construction dans un rôle similaire;
• Être bricoleur et capable de construire des meubles;
• Capacité à travailler à l’extérieur;
• Capacité à soulever 40 lb à plusieurs reprises;
• License pour opération d’un Skid-Steer sera considéré un atout;
• Attention au détail;
• Doit posséder et apporter des bottes de sécurité compatible avec les températures froides;
• Permis de conduire classe 5 requis
