With numerous ongoing and future projects, we have plenty to offer!New-Firmus Contracting BC Inc. comprises very skillful and devoted professionals who are committed to the success of every project and every employee!Our company mantra is Safety-Quality-Schedule, safety always comes first!The Role: · Attach rigging to material and equipment to prepare for moving with chains, shackles, web slings, chokers, and or straps· Dismantle and store rigging equipment after use.· Communicate and work with Site Foremen and Superintendents to take directions on daily tasks· Be familiar with the lifting capacities of the tower crane; ensure no load is lifted where the weight is unknown· Must be able to perform quick load calculations· Determine angles and position of rigging to ensure all loads are safe and secure during lift· Must be able to perform quantity counts of equipment (incoming and outgoing)· Communicate with the operator via two-way radio and/or hand signals during lifting and lowering procedures· Signal or direct workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads, to ensure the safety of workers and materials· Communicate with other trades as to the positioning of their materials within the project boundaries and floor to floor· Must be able to communicate directions to crane operator while the load is “in the blind”· Daily inspections of rigging equipment· Follow and operate under site-safe work procedures for lifting, lowering, or moving equipment· Place and pour concrete with the use of a concrete bucket· Follow all project and work safety procedures and policies· Ability to safely rig and communicate the direction of fly-form tablesThe Requirements: · 2+ years of experience rigging in high-rise construction· Must be willing to work overtime during the regular work week and Saturdays· Must have a valid rigging certificate or Letter of Competence· Must hold a valid fall protection certificate· Staying alert and maintaining a high level of concentration· Ability to work with hand and power carpentry tools and other construction equipment· Ability to assess situations and identify potential hazards· Represent the company, resolving customer concerns and keeping a positive attitude· Strong team player· Familiar with large-scale construction sites· Communication in English is necessary.The Benefits: At New Firmus Contracting BC Inc., we believe that the success of the company depends on the success of our employees.
