At FortisAlberta, we power Alberta communities and empower our people to do their best work.Please note there are two (2) positions available.What Are We Looking ForUnder the supervision of Manager Forestry, this position will provide administrative support to the Forestry Department.The Administrative Assistant - Forestry will provide general administrative support to the Forestry Team, including the preparation and distribution of routine correspondence, presentations, reports, personal expense forms, IT service requests, purchase requisitions, and updates to the Incident Reporting Tool (IRT) database, etc. This role will also prepare and analyze budget reports, audit and code invoices and prepare work packages. Additionally, support and track work order requests, PLT, and customer requests by collecting information and distributing to the appropriate Forestry Field Representative.The Administrative Assistant - Forestry will assist with inputting data for long range planning, budgeting, and reporting. This role will review and input data in FieldView and G electric for internal and external data submissions. This role is responsible for working with contractor personnel to ensure accuracy of work, completed data, accurate invoicing and other work-related requests. The Administrative Assistant - Forestry will assist with and compile data for monthly accruals, journal vouchers and timber salvage, and assist with and provide reports, work packages, cost estimates and other correspondence to Rural Electrification Associations (REA’s).The Administrative Assistant - Forestry will respond to and maintain stakeholder relationships via phone, email, and visits. This role will also order office supplies, safety tools and clothing, and ensure supplies are organized and available when required. Additionally, assist with with travel arrangements, organize meetings and assist with the facilitation of meetings by preparing agendas, taking minutes and distributing meeting notes afterwards. This role will enter safety observations and IRT incidents into SAP. Also, any special projects and other duties as assigned.Qualifications we are looking for:

  • Excellent team building and relationship skills.
  • Proficient at data entry with attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Interpersonal skills - ability to influence, convince, instruct and persuade others.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills – ability to manage multiple requests and to work independently with minimal supervision and accurately maintain electronic and paper filing systems.
  • Good communication skills – both written and verbal as demonstrated in the management of requests while working with other departments and team members.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a wide variety of tasks for a number of stakeholders simultaneously while paying close attention to detail and time requirements.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency (intermediate to advanced skills) in SAP, FieldView, G electric and Microsoft 365 (i.e. Word, Excel, Dynamic CRM, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams and Outlook).
  • Knowledge of SAP (Time Entry, Materials Management, Budgeting, Accounts Receivable) and the knowledge/ability to work within Fieldview, G electric, SharePoint, OPS plotting and RWM reporting would be considered an asset.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A High School Diploma plus a minimum of three (3) years of experience in an administrative role is required;
a combination of education and experience may be considered.Special Conditions:
  • Some travel and overnight absences will be required in this position.
  • A valid Alberta drivers’ license is required.
