Company descriptionRival Axe Throwing is a growing business that has a desire to bring a new and incredible experience to southern Alberta. We are looking for confident, energetic, and reliable individuals who can instruct various sized groups of people and teach them how to throw an axe safely and effectively. This position also includes light server and check in responsibilities and should be held by someone who has an upbeat attitude and presence. This position will require 20-40 hours a week, these working hours are flexible and dependent on when reservations are made. Most reservations will be on weekends and evenings, with specialty group events taking place during normal business hours.   • Run events for various sized groups at the facility and on the mobile unit, including safety briefings, axe throwing instruction.
  • Ensure guests have a fun, safe experience and have constant awareness of health and safety.
  • Supervise gameplay, including being available to answer questions and instruct, uphold safety rules and regulations, act as a referee when needed, and interacting with the groups and generally ensuring everyone is having an amazing time.
  • Take food and drink orders, communicate with the bartender for order placement, and serve guests.
  • Set up and maintain appropriate stock levels for the bar.
  • Safe use of basic power tools to maintain and replace targets – e.g., Cordless drill, chop saw and wood planer (training and instruction will be done prior to doing this job)
  • Prepare venue and lanes for reservations including, wetting the boards, replacing targets, checking axes and maintaining clean lanes.
  • Maintaining a clean facility, sanitizing guest areas and touch points.
  • Ensure that all company procedures and safety policies are always followed.
  • You will also be responsible for supervising the throwing lane area, keeping customers safe and encouraging a fun atmosphere.
  • Participate in daily training sessions.
Requirements
  • Must be 18 years old or older and eligible to work in Canada.
  • Previous experience of axe throwing is not a requirement; however, you must have a keen interest to learn and master all the responsibilities for coaching and running the Worlds Axe Throwing League software, league play and tournaments.
  • Available to work at mobile events.
  • Available to work flexible hours throughout the week, days, evenings & weekends.
  • Must be confident and have an outgoing personality and a passion to build community.
  • Health and safety conscious, problem solver.
  • Reliable, Self-motivated, and responsible
  • Must have a reliable means of transportation.
  • Must obtain your Alberta Pro Serve Certification.
Part-time hours: 8-40 per weekJob Types: Full-time, Part-time, Casual, PermanentSalary: $15.00-$18.00 per hourAdditional pay:
