POSITION SUMMARY:XTL Transport Inc. is looking for a Carrier Logistic Planner at our Airdrie, AB location to become part of an excellent team. This is a great opportunity for an individual who is self-motivated, has strong analytical and computer skills, strong attention to detail and is enthusiastic to work in a customer centric environment. This position coordinates all processes and functions of load planning and freight movement for LTL/TL/Intermodal.Essential Responsibilities:Customer Relations:

• Responsible for complete order management from initial booking, throughout transit, and until freight has successfully delivered.
• Interacts and communicates with internal and external carriers on front-line issues to ensure the best possible customer service is provided timely.
• Provide feedback on Sales and CS on areas of opportunity or concern
• Service existing accounts, obtains orders, and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily.
• Resolves customer complaints by investigation problems, developing solutions, preparing reports and making recommendations to management.

Carrier Relations:

• Grow & develop our carrier base with partners that meet or exceed our criteria & compliance standards.
• Develop an in depth understanding of partner carrier networks in order maximize their effectiveness.
• Monitor, measure and provide feedback on carrier performance (in conjunction with other team members)
• Negotiate transactional and dedicated rates with partner carriers while ensuring corporate margin targets are achieved.
• Ensure carrier capacity exceeds customer demands.
• Progress high performing carrier partners from transactional to core status.

Corporate Responsibilities:

• Assist with market rate information in order to complete rate proposals
• Liaison with other team members to ensure order completion
• Perform all of the above responsibilities in alignment with our corporate strategic objectives
• Perform all of the above responsibilities in alignment with our corporate values of LEAD WITH GRACE

Measurement Responsibilities:

• Ensure data integrity is high when building, managing and completing orders
• Verify carrier data is accurate before completing orders

Other Responsibilities:

• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Skills and Abilities:

• Computer experience required (AS400, Lotus)
• Knowledge of North American geography
• Good communication skills
• Negotiating skills
• 2-3 years industry experience and / or relevant post secondary education
• Must be eager, up for new challenges, and not willing to settle
• Excellent customer service skills and professional demeanor
• Support and replace other team members as needed

Work Environment:

• Ability to work well under pressure and provide follow-up with strong attention to details.
• Ability to work in a team atmosphere with minimal supervision
