We’re a place where you just might be a perfect fit.Our Team:The recreation facility provides clean, safe multi-purpose spaces for a variety of leisure/recreation/wellness services, opportunities, programs, skill development, events and activities that enhance the quality of life for residents in and around the City of Airdrie.Fitness and Leisure provides the planning and delivery of child care programs to meet the demands of the public and provide the public with a variety of opportunities to constructively use their leisure time in.The Opportunity:This is an entry level position within the Fitness and Leisure department.Accountabilities include but are not limited to:

  • Providing quality child care services to children whose families utilize Genesis Place
  • Interacting with and caring for children ages infant to 6 years
  • Providing fun activities in a safe and enjoyable environment
  • Great customer service and communication skills
  • Providing a healthy and clean area for children to play and explore
You Bring:
  • A minimum age of 18 years is required
  • Current Standard First Aid – Level C CPR with AED certification (copy must be submitted with application)
  • Exceptional customer service and people skills
  • Experience working with and caring for children
  • A genuine desire to work with children
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced and ever changing environment
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Level 1 ECE/Child Development Worker certification would be an asset

We do this through continuous learning, regular team building, and organizational social events so all employees have the knowledge to provide excellence in service to our community.Additional Information:This is an on-call position with evening shifts between 4:30 pm – 9:00 pm. Daytime on call shifts may be available from time to time from 7:45 am – 1:30 pm and weekend shifts from 7:45 am – 12:15pm. Candidates with availability Monday – Friday mornings may be given priority. Additionally, candidates with Level 1 Early Childhood Educator certification may be eligible for shifts in our licensed pre-school program.Successful candidates must be able to perform physically demanding tasks and will be required to lift, bend, and kneel.
