Job Description

Job SummaryWe are currently seeking a Communications Tech for work in NWT. The assignment is 3 weeks in 3 weeks out with flights out of Calgary. Shifts are 12 hours per day while on site and this is a camp environment. The term is 3 to 6 months with possibility of becoming permanent. Individuals must be self sufficient, self starters and capable of performing day to day communications work.We are looking for an individual that can:

  • Work in the extreme winter conditions
  • Complete radio installs/repairs/troubleshooting of Motorola digital radios
  • Has experience splicing fiber
  • Has a computer based background – familiar with IP
  • Work with minimal supervision
  • Wants to learn type attitude and is a team player
WENCO experience is considered an asset. Radio communications familiarity is required as well as fiber optic systems familiarity.Camera IP AXIS installs troubleshooting and repair experience is an asset.UG mine communication systems, such as leaky feeder, etc., would be considered an asset.Satellite, wireless & microwave communications familiarity with 5 years previous work experience in an industrial setting is required.Candidates must pass a medical, drug testing as per site requirements as well as complete a police check. Candidates must be double vaccinated for Covid-19 to work at this site.We thank all applicants.
