Job Description

  • Prepare patients for physical exam/surgery
  • Perform minor skin procedures independently
  • Assist physician with more complex procedures
  • Assist physician to maintain a good workflow and meet expectations of patients in relation to being on time
  • Collect patient data for clinical trials
  • Perform post-procedure wound care
  • Educate patients on post-procedure care as necessary
  • Maintain and clean the safe and well-stocked exam and operating rooms, sterilize surgical instruments, and assist with clinic housekeeping
  • Conduct follow-up phone calls with patients regarding their care or if any questions arise
  • Work with administration staff to assist phone calls and triage patient referrals and patient bookings
  • Prepare requisitions and process specimen collection
  • Receive and review pathology reports
  • Contact patients with lab results and assist with referrals out
  • Scan and fax documents
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives
  • Assist with inventory management and ordering
  • Contribute to the companys social media publication
  • Perform other duties, as trained and assigned
Skills & Qualifications
  • LPN Certificate from accredited Professional licensing body
  • Prior experience in customer service (preferred)
  • Prior experience in specimen management (preferred)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology (required)
  • A data entry background or prior experience (required)
  • Good computer skills, including use of the Microsoft Office and an understanding of EMR
  • Attention to detail, high-level of accuracy
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Reliability and punctuality
  • Familiarity with dermatology procedures, tools and equipment considered an asset
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, flexibility and multi-tasking ability
  • A willingness to participate in continued learning which will include but not be limited to: in clinic training, external seminars, and independent studying.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and self motivation.
