Job Description

The Dispatcher is responsible for planning, dispatching and troubleshooting. This includes maintaining communication and data integrity throughout in order to prevent systemic service failures.As a Dispatcher you will ensure the day to day commitments to our customers are executed as promised. Your creative ability to find solutions and develop relationships will play a key role in achieving customer loyalty and profitable business growth. The ideal candidate will be someone who is customer focused, detailed oriented and strives to ensure customer commitments are delivered.Schedule: This is a 4 day on/ 4 day off schedule 5am - 5pm.*On call component is required * Must be flexible as you may be required to cover vacation and sick calls of other members of the team. Operations Support will include a variety of duties including reports, operating satellite phones, a driver payroll element, and other tasks that may arise.Location: Airdrie, ABResponsibilities:

  • Act as the single point of contact for the fleet
  • Plan and schedule deliveries to ensure operational efficiencyamp; customer satisfaction.
  • Responding to various types of operational issues including, but not limited to: equipment breakdowns, driver re-assignments, load delays or cancellations, etc.
  • Communicate with customers as to any delays
  • Continually monitor road and weather reports and communicating any delays that may occur in order to keep our fleet safe on the roads.
Skillsamp; Abilities
  • Candidate must possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Must be team player with strong commitment to quality and customer service
  • 1 year of transportation dispatch experience an asset
  • United States experience an asset
  • Transportation industry knowledge and experience an asset
  • Must have strong geographical knowledge
  • Knowledge of (AS/400, Excel and Lotus notes) an asset
  • Ability to evaluate data and options for action and to reach sound conclusions
  • Able to deal with sensitive issues in a tactful, diplomatic, and professional manner at all times
  • Able to work well under pressure
  • Flexible, able to deal with change
  • Very organized, with excellent multi-tasking and problem solving skills
  • Excellent customer service/communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
