At FortisAlberta, we power Alberta communities and empower our people to do their best work.What You Will be Doing:As a Dispatch Student working in our System Operations group, you are a FortisAlberta ambassador with a desire for problem solving and helping others. You are an enthusiastic, hardworking individual with a positive attitude who can listen to and assist with Alberta One Call Locate screening during high volume times. You champion the FortisAlberta brand and are committed to delivering exceptional service.FortisAlberta values the student experience. In this role you will gain four months of intensive, hands-on work experience, learning from our experienced leaders what it takes to power Alberta communities as you support our team.Position Responsibilities:

• Providing operational support and direction to FortisAlberta’s Field Operations employees and contractors.
• Working with applications such as SAP, GElectric and other dispatching tools to support delegation duties.
• Communicating directly with customers to ensure prompt and accurate responses.
• Support the Dispatch department with daily operations.
• Contributing to the overall high performance of the Dispatch team to ensure our customers’ operational needs are met.

A Successful Candidate will:

• Display superior customer service skills.
• Have the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively as part of a large team.
• Be able to Independently make decisions during high volume periods and often stressful conditions.
• Have well-developed communication skills.
• Have the ability to read and understand map locations.
• Have a proven track record in continuous improvement - challenging the ‘status quo’ and providing sound recommendations to improve processes.

Qualifications we are Looking for:

• Candidates must be currently enrolled in relevant post-secondary institution and planning to return in full-time capacity.
