Job Description

Summary:Troubleshoot and respond to operational issues. Includes maintaining communication and data integrity throughout in order to prevent service failures.Work Schedule: 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM - 4 days on / 4 days off

  • must be able to work on-call shifts
Responsibilities:Driver Support
  • Ensure phones and satellite messages are answered promptly
  • Manage productivity live using Dispatch tools and maintain dispatch status
  • Making sure planning is in accordance with service level requirement of +98%
  • Responding to various types of operational issues including, but not limited to: equipment breakdowns, driver re-assignments, load delays or cancellations, overweight loads, etc.
  • Monitor road and weather conditions, keep driver advised of worsening conditions or road closures
  • Maintain driver retention by providing Excellent Customer Service and always being fair with all drivers.
  • Report issues and opportunities for improvement to appropriate supervisors or HR
Trouble Shooting
  • Establish and put in place a plan for loads that do not seem or will not be meeting service commitments. This includes communicating information to customer and customer service
  • Ensuring proper type of equipment are assigned to customers and trailer bank commitments are not depleted
  • Ensure yard check, load security, heated load and inactive trailers are monitored and reported on when necessary to maintenance and/or terminal manager
  • Relay information, obstacles and discrepancies to Operations manager, operations, customer service, and/or any other departments when necessary.
  • Monitor for hazardous or time sensitive maintenance flags and assign equipment accordingly
Skills & Abilities
  • Must have 1-2 years of experience, either in transport or related industry;
  • Must have good geographical knowledge;
  • Candidate must have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Impeccable, detailed and Proactive Phone and Satellite habits
  • Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy;
  • Ability to evaluate data and options for action and to reach sound conclusions;
  • Must be team player with strong commitment to quality and customer service;
  • Ability to multi-task and manage priorities, meet deadlines, work under pressure and take on additional tasks;
