As we continue to expand our operations, we seek a Dispatcher 4 On/ 4 Off who is self-motivated and shares our passion for growth.Schedule: Days: 4 On/ 4 Off - 6 am to 5 pm. *On call component is required*Responsibilities:

• Schedule and secure resources for both driver and equipment.
• Ensure all drivers have confirmed their loads.
• Pro-actively plan for contingencies in order to prevent service failures.
• Assess and predict operational resources needed to achieve service in the most efficient and cost effective manner.
• Monitor cost of operations including driver hours, bobtails, run efficiency, warehouse appointments, wait time issues, etc.
• Work with the maintenance department, to ensure that necessary equipment is in place to service our customer’s needs.
• Coordinate with maintenance to keep a flow of equipment coming in/out of garage.
• Manage equipment to ensure trucks are available for drivers at the beginning of shifts.
• Review driver’s mileage to ensure they are being distributed fairly.
• Create weekly planning for customers according to driver schedules.
• Preplan loads, backhaul, special moves and deadheads as needed.
• Provide feedback in regards to improvements to the Assistant Terminal Manager to help reduce dead miles and waiting times.
• Monitor On Time Service.
• Other duties as required.

What we are looking for:

• Must have a minimum of 1 year of transportation dispatch experience
• Must be proficient in the Canadian and US Hours of Service rules and regulations
• Tractor and trailer knowledge is an asset
• Knowledge of (AS/400, Excel and Lotus notes) an asset
• Candidate must have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work in a team environment as well as on their own.
• Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
• Ability to multi-task and manage priorities on a daily basis.
• Critical and strategic thinking
• Legal entitlement to work in Canada without sponsorship requirements.
