At FortisAlberta, we power Alberta communities and empower our people to do their best work.What Are We Looking ForFortisAlberta is looking for a Field Scheduler who will be responsible for the prioritization, bundling, and scheduling for the construction and asset management work of field resources and equipment. Evaluating availability, job requirements, work prioritization and competency to construct, maintain, and operate the electrical distribution system. The Field Scheduler is also responsible to ensure that the required third-party service providers have been coordinated to align with the efficient delivery of the work being executed. The Field Scheduler will lead communications frequently with various roles and departments to ensure that schedules are adhered to and updated as required.The Field Scheduler will utilize the appropriate systems and guidelines to efficiently schedule all productive and non-wrench time for field resources and information received in a work order package. This role will also maintain annual resource forecasts and determine the urgency of work requests based on established expected delivery dates; prioritize, proactively schedule, and assign the resources, services, materials, and equipment. The Field Scheduler must proactively communicate with the required stakeholders if dates cannot be achieved and resolve scheduling conflicts as necessary. This position will coordinate the scheduling of all resources, equipment, and third-party service providers required for the efficient execution of work and inform customers of scheduled start dates and any delays. The Field Scheduler will contact third-party resources as per the projects approvals or underground locates, including scheduling any required field visits.This role will also receive, process, and respond to internal requests and inquiries related to resource scheduling and operate and utilize systems/applications to monitor work requests and progress, manage exceptions, and ensure completions of work. The Field Scheduler will ensure all Construction Readiness is completed; first calls, material checks, PPOs, third party contractors, switching programs, hold offs, etc. and analyze schedules and identify when shift adjustments are required for field resources to meet job requirements and make recommendations. It is important for this position to actively lead communications with Crew Lead, Area Coordinator (Unit Price or Major Projects), Operations Lead, Dispatcher, and others to ensure schedules are met and incorporate any changes to the schedule as required. The Field Scheduler will also schedule any follow-up activities or changes to the original work order, e.g., warranty checks, reclamation work. This role will consider safety, environmental and business priorities and participate in the development and forecasting of project and maintenance plans, as well as perform other duties or participate on special projects as required.What will you bring to the Role
