Ecole Edwards Elementary School, located in the City of Airdrie, is home to approximately 703 English and French students from grades K-5. Fluency in French and English is a requirement for this position.Responsibilities IncludeUnder the direction of a teacher, assists students individually, and/or in groups, by carrying out plans and activities as assigned by the teacherReinforces strategies as directed by the teacher(s) and identified in Personalized Learning Plan (PLP), Individualized Program Plans (IPP), Behaviour Support Plans (BSP), safety plans, and medical plans, in programming for the diverse needs of the studentsImplements behaviour management strategies for students as neededContributes to the achievement of students educational goals and objectives by working with the teacher to create a positive, safe, and optimal learning environmentSupports students with routine personal care activities such as toileting, movement, personal hygiene, eating, drinking and feedingSupports students medical needs as directed and in accordance with RVS policies and procedures.Education/ExperienceEducational Assistant Certificate or a certificate from a related fieldTraining in a preventative/de-escalating behaviour course and/or willingness to become certified in divisional programsOne or more years relevant experience preferredMinimum one (1) year experience working with students with challenging behavior and applying positive behavior supportRocky View Schools Benefits6% vacation payFlex Benefits Plan (Extended health, Dental Benefits, Wellness/Health Care Spending Account(s), Tax Free Savings Account and Registered Retirement Savings Plan)Defined Benefit Pension PlanProfessional development and training opportunitiesFree ParkingThe successful candidate must submit a current Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check within 30 days of the start of employmentOpen to: Internal and External applicantsSalary: Starting hourly rate $20.51How to ApplyWe request all applications be placed through http://rockyview.simplication.com/.
