Is mindful of the psychological health and safety of our employee care partners.Qualifications: · Grade 12 Diploma or recognized equivalent is required. · Applicable trade’s certificate in a related field preferred. · Experience in maintenance services required. Responsibilities:As a member of our Care Partner Team, your role will include: · Providing services in a manner that demonstrates the principles of appropriate choice, dignity, privacy, independence, and individuality in accordance with the Mission, Vision, and Core Values.· Ensuring that services are provided in accordance with best practices, our Well-Being Strategies, quality improvement guidelines, and regulations/standards. It is important to conduct random ongoing audits to always ensure compliance.· Strives to attain excellence in Care Partner satisfaction of the maintenance services through ongoing solicitation, surveys, and measurement of feedback. Implementation of Care Partner suggestions, interactive problem solving, and an annual evaluation.· Makes improvements in the overall coordination of the Community’s maintenance services.· Being a team builder, coach, mentor, active listener, facilitator, teacher, and an important resource to our Community.· Responsible for the recruitment, interviewing, retention, training, orientating, supervision, performance management, discipline, up to including dismissal, promotion and regular growth planning for applicable Maintenance Care Partners including contracted Care Partners and volunteers. Liaise with the Manager/HR regarding human resource items as required.· Participation in investigations and grievance processes in accordance with Well-Being Strategies.· Engaging Care Partners in aspects of maintenance experiences, helping everyone become well-known to one another.· Assisting with daily life within the Community, as needed, such as supporting spontaneous activities, and leading Learning Circles.· Co-ordinate and assist if required in the Move In/Move Out/Orientation process for Residents.· Promote and create involvement by Residents in meaningful activities.· Creating an atmosphere that is welcoming, relaxed, and relationship-driven, where everyone feels at home.· Understanding the Domains of Well-Being and bringing them to life.· Collaborating with the Community team to plan and participate in special celebrations and spontaneous events.· Adhering to all the Well-Being Strategies.· Preparing reports/checklists/schedules as required.· Participation in the budgeting process.· Understanding, providing leadership, as well as participation in the Emergency Management Plan, Infection Control protocol, WHMIS, and Health & Safety Wellness Strategies.· Makes an active contribution towards improving Community relations, increasing positive public regard and overall awareness.· Reports all health, safety, or maintenance items as required.· Always maintaining a high level of professionalism.· Participates and facilitates ongoing educational programs.· Maintain self-wellness and reduced absenteeism within the team.· Takes initiative to actively plan, develop, and implement expansion in program services.· Continually monitors, key measurable indicators of the daily operations.· Assist with identifying and addressing unmet needs within the Community.· Respond to concerns/issues and conduct appropriate incident investigations as they relate to services within the Community.· Ensure adequate and competent Care Partners are available to support the maintenance services that are required within the Community.· Coordinate and oversee maintenance Care Partner planning and scheduling as per budget guidelines, including overtime and time off approval and vacation requests.· Actively participating in Community Learning Circles, meetings, and events.· Organize and present in-services/education as required.· Collaborate with the team, including but not limited to management, families, and employee care partners to facilitate the highest level of maintenance services for the Resident.· Monitoring inventory and coordinating the ordering of maintenance supplies.· Responsible for ensuring that a safe and sanitary environment is provided for all Care Partners and makes every effort to reduce safety hazards, accidents, and injuries.· Audit and identify any health, safety or maintenance issues, and reports/documents as required.· Exhibits and promotes excellent customer relations and consistently shows courtesy, caring, understanding, compassion and respect to all care partners including but not limited to residents, families, visitors, contracted partners, and fellow team members.· Leads and supports projects and quality improvement initiatives.· Participates in the development of Well-Being Strategies.· Maintain appropriate levels of certification. (As required)· Maintain confidentiality of the Community including but not limited to accountability of all care partners. Breach of confidentiality is serious and may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.· Participate in the after-hours call in process, as required.· Performs other services/tasks/duties related to employee care partner role as assigned.Oversees these Areas of Maintenance Care: (if applicable)· Maintenance Checklists· Maintain interior and exterior of the Community· Furniture repair interior and exterior· Safety systems· Floor coverings· Handrails, signs· Sidewalks and driveways· Snow and Ice removal· Windows, screens· Roofing· Lighting interior and exterior· Maintaining Operator Manuals· Heating and ventilation system· Equipment, kitchen, laundry, electrical· Building repair interior and exterior· Grounds maintenance· Ordering of cleaning supplies· Painting· Maintenance/Materials InventoryEmployment is conditional upon providing satisfactory proof that a candidate is fully immunized against COVID-19.
