Job Description

Eaton is currently seeking a Material Handler – Day Shift to join our team. This position is based at our Airdrie, Alberta facility.Position Overview:Reporting to the Materials Manager, this position provides support to the assembly areas by replenishing products, receiving inbound materials, picking specific customer orders, and resolving count discrepancies. All employees will be rotated through all job functions within the Warehouse.Making what matters work at Eaton takes the passion of every employee around the world.   • Receive incoming stock parts on the dock, relocate them and ensure they are allocated to proper bin locations
  • Verify that part numbers match packing slips and that quantities are correct
  • Pick and count material of various weights and sizes accurately using a handheld scanner
  • Package and load material to ensure end-user satisfaction
  • Support and assist team members with various tasks throughout the warehouse
  • Operate lift equipment safely to move material in and out of high bay racking and around the plant.
    • Material Handlers will drive a variety of machinery including counterbalance, reach truck and order picker
  • Perform cycle counts and audits where required
  • Work with management team and coworkers to create a safety first and continuous improvement culture
  • Solve routine warehouse problems
  • Pick, pack, move, put away, wrap and load skids of various dimensions and weights

  • Must have completed a high-school diploma or equivalent education from an accredited institution.
  • Basic warehouse material handling and/or shipping experience
  • No relocation provided. Candidates must reside within 80km of Airdrie to be considered.
  • Must be authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship now and in the future.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Licensed Electrical Truck Operator
  • Prior experience on truck loading principles
  • Exposure to inventory software.
Position Criteria:
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced/changing environment.
  • Good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work within teams/groups and work with all levels of the organization.
  • Good PC skills, including MS Outlook and the use of RF Scanners.
  • Effective time management.
