Job Description

We are looking for a motivated individual to kickstart their long term career with GFL Environmental.Job DescriptionTank Farm/ Solids Pad OperatorThe Technician is responsible for the handling, consolidating and processing of hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials received by the Processing Facilities. The Technician must display a focus on safety and efficiency in a team environment while performing moderately labour intensive and repetitious tasks.Key Accountabilities

  • Assist with the loading and unloading of trucks and containers
  • Ensure incoming waste conforms with acceptance protocols
  • Dewatering pits and emptying containers using a vacuum truck
  • Stabilizing material on solids pad using a front end loader
  • Monitoring and maintaining liquid heating boilers
  • Promote a safety culture with all employees
Requirements
  • Class 5 driver’s license
  • Ability to perform moderately labour intensive and repetitious tasks
  • Physically fit with the ability to lift +50lbs and stand on cement for extended periods of time
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems
  • Able to work independently and in a team environment
This roll does not require a Class 3 license, Tank farm experience or a Loader Operator ticket.
