We ensure opportunities for active and passive leisure that will enhance quality of life for individuals and the community.The Opportunity:We are currently looking to fill one (1) summer term for the Parks department and the primary responsibility for this position will be the mowing of roadside ditches.

  • Grounds maintenance of all parks, boulevards, and roadside ditches
  • Operation of tractors (over 80 hp)
  • Mowing roadside ditches
  • Shift: Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday 7am - 5:30pm (40 hour work week based on a 10 hour day)
  • Term: Immediate start date – August 27, 2021
You Bring:
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license
  • Experience with the operation of tractors (over 80 hp) is required
  • Ability to operate light equipment
  • Basic horticulture and landscaping experience is an asset
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a team environment
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment
  • Proven customer service skills
  • A can-do, positive attitude

Additional Information:Working conditions: 40 hour work week based on a 10 hour day. Work is done primarily outside under all weather conditions. This work is physically demanding and may involve some heavy lifting, prolonged bending, and kneeling. Immediate start date available.If required a maximum of 80 hours of unpaid vacation may be allotted during the term.Successful candidates must provide a current Driver's Abstract and criminal records check.
