Job Description

LocationAirdrie, Alberta, CanadaSummaryReporting to the Team Leader, Supply Chain, and the Procurement Specialist will be responsiblefor the purchasing of gas turbine parts for both engine lines. This role will also be expected to assistwith all other generalized purchasing requirements for the organization. This position requires theindividual to be highly organized, possess strong computer and communication skills and havethe ability to prioritize responsibilities whenever necessary. Responsibilities may continue outsidenormal working hours. International travel may be required on occasion.DutiesThe duties will include but will not be limited to the following:

  • Responsible for sourcing Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) authorized turbine
parts for both General Electric (GE) & Siemens (formerly known as Rolls Royce) enginelines within the appropriate license commitments.
  • Maintain contact with suppliers and vendors daily to expedite orders. This includes
monitoring expected delivery dates, shipping issues and invoicing/payment issues.
  • Establish and maintain customer and supplier relations.
  • Assist in the ongoing identification process of surplus materials.
  • Coordinate the procurement, receipt and delivery of goods including follow up to
customer.
  • Work with supplier partners where necessary to achieve goals of TCT and assist in
developing and improving customer relations.
  • Conduct analysis of inventory usage and assist in the ongoing development of forecasting
tools in a continuous improvement model.
  • Work with Materials Department to ensure that all incoming orders are correct prior to
receiving parts.
  • Work with Finance to expedite payments and correct invoicing and purchase order issues.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and develop knowledge of procurement strategies.
  • Adhere to strict ethical behavior at all times and immediately report any concerns to
management.
  • Increase knowledge of HSE Policy and Manual and maintain a positive attitude towards
the health and safety of myself and coworkers.
  • Take ownership of HSE issues and demonstrate enthusiasm and support for HSE.
  • Other duties as directed by Team Leader, Supply Chain
Procurement Specialist (Temporary)Employee / team flexibility is of prime importance to TransCanada Turbines. It is important thatall employees are willing and able to assist with any activity, at any time, as necessary to supportthe needs of a changing and demanding customer base in the gas turbine repair and overhaulbusiness.The minimum training and/or educational requirement for this role is 5 years related experienceor a combination of education and experience that allows the individual to adequately performthe role, determined by the Manager, Supply Chain.
