The Municipal Support Unit consists of a variety of positions and responsibilities within the detachment.We are looking for a dedicated and positive individual to join our team as an Administrative Assistant. This position forms an integral part of the unit. Working at the detachment front counter the Administrative Assistant provides excellent customer service to the citizens of Airdrie. The front counter team is responsible for entering data into confidential Police Data Base systems, completing criminal record checks and handling payments for services in a fast paced and challenging workplace.The Opportunity:

  • Provide excellent customer service at the front counter and over the phone
  • Complete RCMP forms and criminal record checks
  • Process payments for criminal record checks, fingerprints and other services
  • Assist with technical duties to support the administration team as required
  • Enter data into confidential Police Data Base systems
  • Provide administrative support to the RCMP
You Bring:
  • Previous experience as an Administrative Assistant
  • Post-secondary education, degree, certificate or diploma in administration is preferred
  • Experience in a high pressure customer facing service environment
  • Experience working in a high volume data entry environment with an eye for detail and accuracy
  • Prior experience working in a police or legal environment would be an asset
  • Ability to adapt well in an ever changing environment
  • Strong initiative and the ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to quickly align with shifting priorities to address frequent interruptions
  • High level of confidentiality, tact and diplomacy
  • Ability to deal effectively with people in difficult situations
  • Demonstrated commitment to exceptional customer service

Availability between the hours of 8:00 am – 4:30 pm Monday to Friday is required.The successful candidate must be able to pass the Enhanced Reliability RCMP Security Clearance Records Check prior to their start date which could take two (2) to six (6) months.
